“Falling Slowly” from Once is rightfully Best Original Song  <–( permalink )

I’m so happy that Once won for Best Original Song… for pete’s sake the other songs were for a cartoon or Cinderella-story… I don’t know, something about cleaning toilets in the most annoying want-to-stab-your-eyes-out-and-plug-your-ears-with-them high-pitched, fake-happiness tone and Hannah Montana sung something-or-other song. At least that’s all I bothered to notice waiting for “Falling Slowly.”

It’s got to be huge for them all, and I’m glad… I just feel so sorry for Markéta Irglová being cut off by the orchestra ( and muting the microphone ) as she tried to talk.

Check out the following links for more information than I care to give… if you have no idea what I have been talking about. I do write things assuming whatever reader ( not many, haha… not many at all ) actually knows something about what is going on in the world.

2007 (80th) “Falling Slowly” – Once • Music and lyrics: Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova

Seriously though, check out the movie and the soundtrack. It’s completely excellent. Make sure to see the movie first… before just listening to the soundtrack. The songs have a visual life of their own when seen in the movie… they do not have the emotion and commitment invested into them alone, as they do in the movie.

I picked up a brand-new copy at Half.com or eBay.com, I don’t remember. Great movie.

All the “Obama is the Anti-Christ?” posts  <–( permalink )

I was going to post the same thing… when I decided to search… and there’s tons of posts now where people are comparing the similarities between Obama and the Anti-Christ. It is truly scary to think of all this actually happening during our lifetime.

I love that people are asking on Yahoo! Answers… this one is my favorite.

If Obama is the antichrist, then why does Hillary definitely look like “The Beast?” …remember those “dogs” on Ghostbusters? haha… poor Rick Moranis.

Yahoo!, seriously? That’s billion… BILLION!  <–( permalink )

Microsoft: Here, want 44.6 billion?

Yahoo!: Nope, we think we’re more important than you… so give us more.

Microsoft: You suck.

…seriously. I like Yahoo! so much more than Microsoft… ( omg, don’t get me started on Internet Explorer, Frontpage, Word, etc. ), but still… sell out!

You made your money, your namesake… put your great-great-great grandkids through college ( minus the whole apocalypse thing ) why don’tcha?

Corporate integrity… blah blah blah. I’m all for NOT making Microsoft any bigger than they already are… besides, they are loosing the Google, Yahoo!, etc. battle anyway… but they will eventually win. Yahoo!, even though you look cool and have cooler stuff… your not doing too well.. and it’s starting to show.

Microsoft is just holding more chips than you Yahoo! - and in poker, that’s all that counts. Google is about to take over the cell phone internet/airways market ( free wireless, but you’ll see targeted ads based on where you are )… and Microsoft just wants to still be in the game.

So, ( not that anyone is listening - or reading this for that matter… haha ) my recommendation to you Yahoo! is to look at what you’ve accomplished, hold your head up and give it up. And by give it up, I mean… take your billions of dollars and go cry in your car.

[ I'm all for you holding out for more money, and trying to prove this and that, set standards... blah blah blah - you are about to be old news because only geeks are going to still care if you don't hurry this up ]
